Reporting to the Manager of IT Operations, the Network Operations Engineer is responsible for organizing and managing successful implementation of Network and Telephony initiatives and technologies as well as for managing the day-to-day network support services to ensure achievement of network availability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 職務[Responsibilities] This position is responsible for participating in complex projects as well as leading changes and updates for the full implementation lifecycle from Envisioning through Deployment. The Network Operations Engineer works with Solution Architects to ensure Network and Telephony solution designs are in line with Global standards. The Network Engineer plans network-specific project implementation tasks and organizes work breakdown schedules to complete required tasks on a published timeline. The successful Network Operations Engineer is confident, well organized, communicates well with all technology and business disciplines, manages risks and issues to closure. The Network Engineer works with resources across disciplines to meet commitments.
The Network Operations Engineer has a high level of skill in Data Networks and intermediate skill with Voice technologies. The Network Operations Engineer manages day-to-day operations including implementation of appropriate network monitoring tools in coordination with the Global monitoring team to proactively isolate events before service degradation occurs. The Network Operations Engineer is also responsible to conduct Incident management, Problem management, and Change Management in accordance with Our Policies and Procedures. The Network Operations Engineer also keeps technical documentation, network diagrams, inventory control documentation, and security documentation updated and available for IT support staff. The Network Operations Engineer communicates regularly and clearly with remote team members to insure all parties are prepared to support the operational environment and project implementation tasks.
The Network Operations Engineer is evaluated based on meeting network availability KPIs and competency in project delivery. Successful project delivery is measured by effective delivery against stated project goals. |

Technical Skills o Minimum of 5 years of networking experience – managing network operations and projects. o CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification or higher o Experience with Enterprise-class Cisco networking equipment (Catalyst, Nexus, ACS, ASA, ASR Series) o Experience with F5 Load Balancing, TippingPoint, CheckPoint, and Cisco Voice are a plus o Knowledgeable in Networking Tools such as but not limited to Orion, Riverbed, Netmapper, Netscaler, NetMRI, and OPNET. o Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies such as computing (networking, telephony, security, server, storage, desktop, etc.). o BA or BS degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field o Six Sigma and/or ITIL experience is a plus Soft skills o Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communications skills o Results driven, exceptionally self motivated and directed, keen attention to detail, and strong sense of personal accountabilities o Proven ability in working effectively with all level of management and staff positions, including pressured situations o Experience in influencing, persuasion, and negotiation o Demonstrated records in building teams, including facilitating, listening, and collaborating その他[Other] o On-call availability and need to work off hours o Frequent need to travel within or outside Japan for on-site support o May be occasionally assigned roles of similar scope and complexities when business situation arises. 必要な語学力[Language] Advanced business level English (speaking/reading/writing) ability to work with global OUR IT Advanced business level Japanese speaking ability to work with Local Japanese speaking vendors and Business departments. マネージメントの有無[People Management Role?] No FTEs reporting, but coordinates efforts of off-shore network resources |
